RYKODISC PRESS RELEASE
3/12/07 - In celebrating 20 years of creating some of the most outrageously sexsational tunes on the planet, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult (TKK) are back and darker than ever with an album of all new material titled, "The Filthiest Show in Town, " due out on Rykodisc April 3, 2007 . And, as an extra special treat for their fans, TKK will release "Resurrection of Luna," featuring a re-recorded, and re-edited version of 2001's "Reincarnation of Luna," along with bonus material and two previously unreleased tracks, "Ocean of Hate" and "Hallowed Be My Name."
"The Filthiest Show in Town" is set against a cityscape of cold and lonely urban streets, dimly lit back alleys, smoke-filled bars and in the back seat of cars. The characters are ambiguous, glamorous and tragic, yet filled with passion, desire and a hunger for love - hard love, cheap love, faceless love. It's a blur of a world where dawn is dusk, boys are girls, whores are saints, and the thirst for cash is the only thing that really matters. No one can wash their hands clean and escape. Freedom is not an option, for this place is the filthiest show in town... welcome!
"We explore the darker side of the nightlife scene with this CD," explains Buzz McCoy. "There are no strobe lights or disco balls here. No mentions of drugs or devils. The real evil here is life itself - raw, lurid and desperate."
And Groovie Mann comments, "It stares you in the face, then pulls you closer for a peck on the cheek. It flirts with one's attraction to the wild side. It is sirens and vixens in little black dresses. Fast pleasure wrapped around swanky beats. Gotta light boy?"
CIAO 2006!
12/12/06 - Well, this year sure flew by fast and TKK maintained one of the busiest performance schedules in many years! We'd like to thank all of you who came out this past year to support the band on tour, as well as the many festivals and events The Kult played in 2006. We really appreciate your loyalty and faith in "America's Most Dangerous Kult".
If you didn't get a chance to see the band play live this year, (which included the debut of new Bomb Gang Girl, "Pepper Somerset"), then you have one last chance if you live in the Chicagoland area. Thrill Kill Kult will be performing this New Year's Eve at the Double Door. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster. The price ($55) includes a FREE BAR all night. Also on the bill is the great Chicago band, The Last Vegas and DJ Scary Lady Sarah will be spinning. Doors are at 8pm.

Other acts on the bill include Bob Mould and Thrill Kill’s good friend’s Space Vacuum From Outer Space. The fair is between the hours of 11am to 6pm and is located on Folsom Street (duh!) between 7th Street and 12th Street. We don’t know what time the band will be performing yet, but keep posted to the official website, www.folsomstreetevents.org for more details.
THE FILTHIEST SHOW
7/05/06 - Groovie and Buzz have finally finished up the new album, “The Filthiest Show In Town”, but don’t expect it to hit stores anytime soon. It seems their label, Rykodisc has just done a merger with Warner Bros., and it looks like the album isn’t scheduled to be released until after the first of the new year due to marketing reasons. Guess we’ll all just have to wait a bit longer for this new offering filled with tales of strippers, hustlers, street walkers, drug dealers and drag queens….How fun is that!!!
MY SPACE
6/06/06 – Okay ya’ll, if you’re a MySpace junkie then please feel free to “friend us” at www.myspace.com/mylifewiththetkk - the page IS monitored by band members and it’s a great way to keep directly in touch with the band.

05/17/06 - There's a kool new company called Start Mobile and they have gathered an awesome collection of "alternative" ringtones from some of the coolest artists around. And YES, TKK has 2 ringtones (Sex On Wheelz & Kooler Than Jesus) available for a free download for the first 60 days! If you have a cell phone capable of connecting to the internet, ie. AT&T, Cingular, Sprint or T-Mobile, you can now download a free Thrill Kill Kult M60 ringtone! You can even download some pretty wild art for your phone too... Check out their website: www.startmobile.net/M60
Disclaimer - "About 75% of you have had luck downloading. There's another 25% who have no luck at all. Understand, the company is brand new and are still working out some bugs... sorry for any inconvenience." -Tina C.
FILTHIEST UPDATE
04/10/06 – Groovie and Buzz have just finished up what is expected to be their last recording session in LA for the new album “The Filthiest Show In Town”. With the exception of some additional vocals by Pepper Somerset, the new cd is completely recorded and ready to start being mixed. There have been many requests from djs and producers regarding working on remixes for the album, so now is the time to contact the band with such matters. If anyone is still interested in getting involved, you can email: contact@mylifewiththethrillkillkult.com for more info.
Also this past month, bassist Levi Levi spent a week in NYC where he applied his talents to the new Scissor Sisters album. So, if they sound even funkier than normal, you know who’s behind the groove baby!
And finally, The Silver Lake Street Festival turned out to be quite the event! Thanks for everyone turning up to the show! Due to some “misplaced” equipment the show started later than scheduled and the set had to be cut short just after 40 minutes because of curfew! Nonetheless, all had a great time. (There’s a rumor the band might be playing the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco this September. We’ll keep you posted on that!)
LEATHERSEX
3/10/06 – If you’re in the Los Angeles area the first weekend in April you’re in for a treat… (well, if you’re a dude into leather and guys). So break out those leather pants, whips and harnesses, and get ready to get down and dirty with America’s Sexiest Kult!

TWOTHOUSANDSEXY FANS
3/5/06 - The band played their last show of the Winter TwoThousandSex Tour last night at the Double Door in Chicago. The venue was completely sold out and it was one hot and heavy dance party. The hometown fans really know how to get down and get funky! Groovie, Buzz, Levi, Justin and Pepper would like to thank all of you who came out this past month to support the band. All the shows were rockin’ thanks to such enthusiastic fans, and hopefully we’ll all do it again real soon!
PHILA-BUSTER
2/28/06 - TKK would like to apologize to all their friends in the Philadelphia area for not playing the Trocadero show last night! Unfortunately the venue cancelled the gig less than 48 hours prior to the performance because they felt they hadn’t sold enough presale tickets! The word of the cancellation didn’t get out very fast and so many people showed up expecting to see a show. Boo hiss to the Troc! Maybe next time…
OPENING BANDS & FINAL TOUR DATES!
2/2/06 - After a bulletin on myspace.com announced last week that TKK was looking for a support act for the East Coast leg of the TWOTHOUSANDSEX TOUR - the band was flooded with inquiries and hopefuls eager to get on the bill. With well over 50 bands submitting their bios, and after much consideration by both Groovie and Buzz, two very distinct great bands have been added to the tour.
New York City based CYLAB will open up starting Feb 20th in St Petersburgh, FL and continue on through Feb 24th @ Axis in Boston. DIRTY SANCHEZ (from Los Angeles) will join the bill Feb 25th @ Avalon in NYC and will play through March 03 in Detroit.
In Thrill Kill's hometown of Chicago, dear friend CHRIS CONNELLY (Revolting Cocks, Pigface, Ministry) will perform a very special acoustic set. Surely an event not to be missed!

NEW THIS FALL - TKK PRESENTS GBM!
08/10/05 - Rykodisc has just announced they will be releasing the long lost, archived TKK project called "GAY, BLACK AND MARRIED" this October 25th .
The album was originally conceived and recorded nearly a decade ago, and the boys had hoped to release it on their own label, SLEAZEBOX RECORDS, but due to one reason or another, it never quite saw the light of day. Needless to say, the band is ecstatic that Ryko has offered to release this last missing piece of the Kult's kollection. So dust off your boogie shoes and get ready to party down to this homage to disco as only the TKK can conjure up.
KISS & BANG
08/05/05 - The song "Golden Strip" from the album "Hit & Run Holiday" kicks off the opening sequenece to the new movie trailer KISS KISS, BANG BANG from Warner Bros studios. The film stars Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr.. The film was originally scheduled for a September release, but has just been pushed back until November 11 th . Check out www.kisskiss-bangbang.com to view the trailer.
BAND NOT TO APPEAR AT PSYTOPIA FESTIVAL
07/07/05 - After much thought and concern, TKK has opted out of participating in this year's PSYTOPIA FESTIVAL, which will be held in Jamaica Aug 17 th thru Aug 23rd . Because of Jamaica's cruel, archaic, and intolerable policies regarding the treatment of gays and lesbians living in AND visiting their country, the band feels they don't want to contribute to the island's only source of commerce, tourism.
We are sorry if anyone has already bought tickets expecting the Kult to perform, but there will be many other great acts, speakers and activities - not to mention the great cause of the festival itself! To learn more about the festival, check out www.psytopia.org
THE SUICIDE GIRLS
06/08/05 - The TKK track "Hour of Zero" from the CD "Golden Pillz", will be featured in the upcoming SUICIDE GIRLS documentary "The First Tour" due out August 30 th on Epitaph/Category 5 films. Visit www.suicidegirls.com/dvd for more info.
LATEST NEWS FROM THE STUDIO
04/13/05 - Groovie and Buzz have just finished up another recording session at StarLust Studios in Los Angeles - laying down preliminary vocals and rhythm parts for the new album, "The Filthiest Show In Town", due out next spring 2006. When Buzz was asked recently what the new album sounded like he responded, "Right now it sounds a bit like the Temptations meets Rick Wakeman or Shirley Bassey meets Lou Reed". Hmmm.....
KC SHOW CANCELLED
04/07/05 - What was supposed to be opening night for Kansas City's new club RUST, turned out disasterous after some water pipes broke to the upstairs bathrooms, flooding the main floor just 24 hours before the band was scheduled to perform! The band apologizes to all their KC area fans who went to see the show and found themselves standing in front of a deserted club. TKK plans to reschedule the date after bassist Levi Levi returns from the current Pigface tour.
ONLY WEST COAST DATE
03/04/05 - TKK has just announced that their only West Coast date this spring will be April 6th at The Vault 350 in Long Beach, CA. Tickets are $17.50 and available online from www.wavesoundconcerts.com . Doors are at 7pm and this is an All Ages show! Also on the bill that evening is Pete "Shaker" Bones.
CHICAGO 28 / LAPTOP 105
02/25/05 - Okay Chicago, sorry for long delay! Because of an overheated laptop which runs the backing sequences for the performance, the band didn't take the stage until nearly 1 am last night - not THAT late for good ol' Chicago, but a few fans had to leave before TKK played citing that they had to get up early for work! Though once the Kult hit the stage, it was a non-stop party! The 800+ fans sang along to every song and it was great seeing the band perform in such an intimate atmosphere as Chicago's ultra hip Sound Bar.
NYC SHOW
02/24/05 - TKK played Crash Mansion in NYC last night. Even though the show had some minor equipment malfunctions, the night was great! The band performed hit after hit, including some remixed versions from the new tribute cd, "My Life Remixed". Crash Mansion was a very cool venue and the staff was excellent. Such a surprise for New York! The funniest part of the evening was when fans started sending up glass after glass of champagne for the band to consume during the 1 hour set. Needles to say, the encores "Blue Buddha" and "Kooler Than Jesus" were extra special that evening. Also on the bill were DJ's Tommy Sunshine, Astro&Glyde and Pete Bones.
BE KOOL?
02/18/05 - Yes, for those of you who weren't sure you were hearing the echoes of TKK every time the TV is on, you are hearing correct. The new film "BE COOL" starring John Travolta and Uma Thurman has been using the song "Hit & Run Holiday" in its extensive movie trailer campaign. It was even played during the Super Bowl.... "bye bye, baby..."
REMIX ALBUM RELEASED
02/15/05 - The new release "MY LIFE REMIXED" on Red Ant Records hits stores today! Even though the tour with MINISTRY continues until mid December, the band has other obligations to attend to and never planned on playing thru December. There were lots of ad misprints and we know a lot of TKK fans bought tickets thinking the band was performing, and for that we truly apologize!

10/12/04 - Rykodisc has just released 3 new offerings from "America's Most Dangerous Kult"! First, "THE KULT KOLLECTION" is their first ever dvd containing rare music videos, live footage and even an enticing trailer from the film that never was... Secondly, "DIAMONDS & DAGGERZ" is a new remix cd, pounding out some new beats to some of TKK's more notorious samples and loops. Also fresh on the table is "THE BEaST OF TKK", a compilation filled with classic tracks from over the past 15 years!

BAND'S BUS IS A NO-SHOW
09/07/04 - The fall tour starts today, but the band's bus doesn't arrive in Los Angeles to pick them up to begin the EVIL DOER TOUR tonight! Could this be a sign??? Never fear, they hire a local tourist coach to get them to Las Vegas just in time to perform. Okay, it's gotta get better than this!
REHEARSALS BEGIN
09/03/04 - TKK began rehearsals today in North Hollywood for the upcoming tour. The current band line-up is Groovie Mann (vox), Buzz McCoy (keys), Levi Levi (bass), Shok (drums) and introducing new Bomb Gang Girl, Abbie Damned on vocals. |
